PLC programmer (m/f/d)

Purpose of the role
Develop, commission and optimise control software for machinery and equipment to support stable, efficient and traceable production.
Responsibilities
- Create and develop PLC programs against technical requirements and functional descriptions.
- Program and adapt operator interfaces and visualisations.
- Integrate and configure sensors, actuators, drives and distributed devices.
- Configure and diagnose industrial communication interfaces and networks.
- Perform software tests, functional checks and worldwide commissioning.
- Resolve software and communication faults; optimise cycle time, availability and process stability.
- Maintain software documentation, versions and backups.
- Instruct operators and maintenance personnel and provide technical support during operation.
Technical requirements
- Technical training with relevant experience, further technician training or a degree in automation, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a related field.
- PLC programming experience, for example Siemens SIMATIC S7 with TIA Portal or Beckhoff TwinCAT.
- Structured Text / SCL and ladder or function-block programming; HMI experience such as WinCC.
- Knowledge of PROFINET, EtherCAT or Modbus TCP and understanding of machine operation, circuit diagrams and drives.
- Safety-controller experience is desirable depending on the equipment.

Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving and careful documentation; communication, ownership, quality awareness and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Assignments and benefits
- Worldwide assembly, commissioning and service assignments; willingness to travel internationally and spend several days or weeks abroad.
- English for technical coordination on site; category B driving licence.
- Willingness to work shifts or be on call where required by operations.
- Company car, including private use.
Collaboration and reporting
Work with electrical and mechanical design, production, maintenance and project management. Report to automation leadership or technical management.
