Connectivity should solve an operational task. A limited use case helps define data needs, interfaces and responsibilities realistically.
Define the benefit
Choose a specific question, such as why a line repeatedly stops or where an order sits in the process. This determines information needs. A general dashboard without a defined user and decision offers little guidance.
Plan interfaces and operation
Agree data sources, updates and responsible contacts. Include missing signals and equipment changes. The solution needs to fit the existing network and operating arrangements.
Trial a limited scope
Start with one machine or station and assess everyday usefulness. Feedback from production and maintenance shows which presentation helps. Expand only after evaluating the trial.
