Inspections help when criteria, responsibilities and responses to deviations are clear. An additional check alone does not improve a process.

Define criteria clearly

Specify what is checked, which document applies and how results are recorded. Equipment and instructions need to suit the feature. Ambiguous descriptions can lead to different decisions on the same part.

Trace deviations back

Connect abnormal results to product, batch and process step. Containment or rework addresses the immediate task but does not explain the cause. Production and quality teams should review this information together.

Review inspection after changes

When a process changes, review affected criteria and documentation. Record who releases the new revision and how shifts are informed. An up-to-date inspection plan supports consistent evaluation during operation.
