A useful model is only part of assembly preparation. Drawings, bills of materials and revisions need to form a shared basis.
Identify the valid revision
Confirm released drawings and bills of materials for the work package. File names alone do not reliably establish validity. Assembly teams need a clear link between component, document and revision.
Review interfaces early
Discuss access, connection points and installation space with assembly and other disciplines. A geometrically fitting assembly can still be difficult to install. Feed installation observations back into documentation.
Hand over changes
Describe differences from the previous revision and affected parts. Consider assemblies already installed. A traceable change list supports implementation and prevents work against different revisions.
